Vernon O. Williams III
Mr. Williams is a Playwright, Producer, Director, Author and Acting Coach extraordinaire. Driven by his credo, “If you are afraid to start, you're already finished!” Vernon’s faith, grit, and passion for the Arts fuel the creativity that puts his genius in demand. As Founder and CEO of Vernon Williams Productions & Acting Studio LLC, his mission is to create and innovative relevant productions that embody timeless theatrical style and character. Whether he is on stage or in the Director’s seat, Vernon is undoubtedly in his element. And it is this element of purpose and destiny that captivates, encourages and inspires audiences across the nation.
Hailing from Washington, D.C., Vernon’s success story is written from humble beginnings. At an early age, he was influenced largely by his Grandmother, Dorris Harris, who often alluded to his gifts and talents; which were in fact; inherited from her and his mother who were both Jazz Singers! Even then, Vernon’s ambition for achievement was evident, and he made numerous appearances in local talent shows and high school drama productions.
After high school, Vernon served in the United States Navy, and after a notable career, his childhood fascination with the performing arts was re-birthed. He aggressively enhanced his craft, and discovered his unparalleled knack for stage management and writing. During this time, he also signed with Linda Townsend Management and was cast in a plethora of TV commercials, movies and stage plays.
Vernon’s diligence paid off and in 2015, he was selected to be a mentee of multi- NAACP Award Winner, Playwright, Author, and Filmmaker, Mr. David E. Talbert. This opportunity required an unexpected trip to Los Angeles, CA and a monumental leap of faith, however, “If you are afraid to start, you are already finished,” was Vernon’s personal mantra that compelled him to accept the distinguished invitation that has had a lasting impact. In 2016, Vernon was invited to Atlanta to meet with and soon become mentored by the late great Godfather of Urban Theatre, Mr. Shelly Garrett. Mr. Garrett often poured knowledge into Vernon on a regular basis about the business that has been a valuable asset to the Vernon Williams Production brand.
Vernon is a loving and devoted husband to his beautiful wife and a father of 6. His wife Felicia has joined him in the business as President of the company and Production Manager. He continues to build his dynamic enterprise with hit stage productions and has now expanded his services to include customized Acting Coaching, Workshops, professional script writing, editing, and production management around the nation.
Vernon is strategically making his mark in the industry and without hesitation, attributes his accomplishments and increasing affluence to God’s grace and favor being upon his life and the support of his loving wife Felicia. He encompasses a lifestyle of determination and gratitude and often suggests to others, “If you don’t have anything to be thankful for, check your pulse.”
This is just the beginning for Vernon Williams and you are cordially invited to watch his story of triumph unfold.
